Graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Silesia in Katowice, Studies of British and European Law (University of Cambridge) and Leadership Academy for Poland.
Winner of the main prize of the "Citizen's Judge of the Year 2015" awarded by the CourtWatch Poland Foundation. Awarded by the daily Dziennik Zachodni with the distinction "Personality of the Year" (2017) in recognition of promoting knowledge about law in the Polish society.
Co-founder and initiator of the 2016 Justice Day (#DWS16) in almost 30 courts in Poland. Appeared at the Academy of Fine Arts at the "Przystanek Woodstock" Festival in 2017.
Since 2003, judge at the District Court (Sąd Rejonowy) in Katowice; from 1 May 2013 to 30 April 2017 - the President of the Court.
Author of publications on the management of justice administration and chapters in books on parenting.
Jarosław Gwizdak teaches civil law at the University of Humanities and Social Sciences (SWPS). Jarosław co-taught a copyrighted seminar for law students at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Silesia: "The Court - where the Theory Meets Practice".
In June 2018, Jarosław Gwizdak announced that he would run for mayor of Katowice in the local government elections in October 2018. He won 12,461 votes (10.63%) and came third. After the elections, Jarosław returned to adjudication. In March 2019, he announced his resignation from the judge's office. Jarosław transferred to the third sector (civic organizations) where he works to improve the functioning of the judiciary and courts in Poland.
Jarosław Gwizdak lives in Katowice, in the Koszutka district. Plays in an amateur punk band The Judges.
