INPRIS is a legal think tank

Arguing Constitutional Law

31 March 2012. Holda Association is offering the first ever Polish moot court on constitutional law. The moot court will simulate proceedings before the Polish Constitutional Tribunal. Some members of INPRIS (Agata, Katarzyna, Filip) have been involved in the preparation of the moot.

This week, 3/31, is the deadline for the teams for sign up.

If you think about the oral argument, and like comparative research, you might want to look at the collection of materials from the NYT. The site presents transcript and audio from one fascinating constitutional argument before the U.S. Supreme Court. This Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday the Supreme Court heard the challenge against the Health Care Law, a case which the press describes as a legal marathone. (By the way, it's worth noting that lawyers prepare for the case also by doing moot courts).

If you like action in the courtroom, you won't miss the moments when Justice Ginsburg comes to the rescue of Mr. Verrilli who is grilled by Justice Scalia (A 'Heavy Burden' at 13:19), or when Justice Kagan has to push Mr. Clement to accept the $10-million job offer (Expanding Medicaid at 42:50). Enjoy!
